Shru howled. His voice was laced with pain, loneliness, hunger, exhaustion, and anger. Almost every unhappy feeling in the world entered his mind and shook the ground like an earthquake. His now-thin black fur rippled in the wind. He was ready for almost anything. The wolf knew who the alpha of these lands were. Shru had lived long enough to learn about the wolf alphas--and the despicable cats.

She heard the long howl of another wolf. She had heard him before, but he wasn't an alpha. She crept up to him quietly, and crouched behind a bush. She watched him intently, wondering why he was here. She decided to come out into the open. You are welcome here, loner. But why are you here?

"I am here because I am here. You are the alpha, correct? Hi." Being the old, strange fellow he was, Shru had no reason to respect her, yet no reason to disrespect her.

Silverfire smiled at the older wolf's bluntness. Yes loner, I am the alpha. What interest do you take in that fact? If he wanted to be difficult, she would be more than happy to deal with him, but for the moment, the white fae was willing to let him on her territory. She did not trust him, but she rarely trusted strangers.
